i see two lines…
So you peed on a stick and it’s… positive! You may be experiencing a wide range of feelings, thoughts and emotions right now. Maybe you’re excited, nervous, anxious, thrilled, shocked, terrified, devastated, ambivalent… there’s no wrong way to feel and you’re not alone!
While I hope you are getting all the support you need, no matter your feelings, this page is primarily designed to help you figure out: what’s next?
Go to the lab and ask for a pregnancy test (you may need an order from your PCM). Note: Flight Medicine at some locations has “walk-in” hours for pregnancy tests. Different clinics may have different processes.
Once they notify you of a positive result, expect to get a call or be scheduled to meet with Public Health, who is mandated to interview you (this is routine, nothing to worry about!).
Find an OB and schedule an appointment for ~6-8 week ultrasound. Some military installations will mandate that you, as a military member, must see a military provider (ex. those in the Colorado Springs area are mandated to see the OB at Fort Carson, though I’ve heard of some exceptions, so don’t give up if this is not your desire).
Your PCM will submit an AF469 Profile. The reasons for restrictions will be left off the profile (your commander won’t know why you’re on a profile unless you tell them until week 20? Need to verify…)
Provide your AF469 to your Unit Fitness Monitor so you will be exempt from PT tests.
